DOMINIC, 26 (St. Paul, MN) Dom won 3rd place in the 2015 FitCon bodybuilding competition, stepping on stage bare-chested, pre-top-surgery. Since last year's competition, Dom has had top-surgery, and found and met his biological mother and half-sibling for the first time. He will return to competition only a few months post-surgery. An aspiring R&B singer/rapper and lyricist, Dom lives with his fiancé Thea, and makes ends meet by working as a dry-cleaning deliveryman and part-time landscaper.

In 2015, Rese shed 70-plus pounds and stepped on stage at Trans FitCon--his first time ever competing in bodybuilding. Shortly after last year's Trans FitCon, however, Rese experienced a period of homelessness; shelters repeatedly turned Rese away because they didn't know where or how to house a trans man safely. Rese is active in Black Lives Matter, has a new relationship, and is staying with his granndparents while preparing for this year's bodybuilding competition.

MASON, 41 (Cleveland, OH) One of a handful of FTM bodybuilders who competes in non-transgender bodybuilding competitions, Mason is preparing to compete at Trans FitCon for the first time. He is married to love of his life Anne, a veterinarian, and living next door to his mother-in-law (Mason is estranged from his own family--with the exception of a sister). Mason struggled for years with debilitating depression and was periodically suicidal, until he transitioned and found adequate medical treatment--and the sport of bodybuilding, which Mason believes saved his life.

As a youth, Tommy used to travel the world with his Pastor father, playing drums in his father's gospel band, and has only recently started to share his trans status with friends and in his community. Tommy has competed in both male and female NPC bodybuilding competitions, and is a newcomer to Trans FitCon, this being his first year training for it.

Kennie is starting to share his new trans status with his friends, family and community. Kennie's mother and twin brother are struggling with the impending changes, as is his partner D.J., who is a lesbian, attracted exclusively to women and femininity. Kennie works as assistant director of the fitness center at a small-town Arkansas university, while he trains to get back up on stage at Trans FitCon--this time after having started testosterone.

SHAWN, 37 (Albany, GA)

Two-time winner of Trans FitCon, Shawn will now serve as special guest judge at this year's competition (a sudden illness requiring surgery knocked Shawn out of the running for a "three-peat"). But he's still the "father" (some might say "god") of trans male bodybuilding.
